Physical Conditions 🧑🏻🦽🩹

  • Functional Neurological Disorder: Symptoms are unpredictable and can include non epileptic seizures, tics, tremors, temporary paralysis, speech loss, and more. I don't typically need an ambulance unless I'm hurt. Please help me stay safe and be patient with my symptoms.
  • I have ME/CFS (myalgic encephalomyelitis): It causes severe fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, flu-like symptoms, and heightened sensitivities to movement, light, and sound. It's made worse by activity and exertion.I may need to sit or lie down, additional time to rest, or to find a dark/quiet room until symptoms ease
  • I Have Fibromyalgia: A chronic condition that causes widespread pain, fatigue, and sensitivity to touch. My symptoms can vary day to day and may affect my energy, concentration, and ability to walk or carry out day-to-day tasks.I may need to rest or take things slowly. Please be patient and understanding with me.
  • I have POTS: A condition that affects my heart rate and blood flow, especially when I stand up or change positions. I may feel dizzy, lightheaded, faint, or fatigued, and might need to sit or lie down quickly. Staying hydrated, slow movements, Salt and compression can ease my symptoms. I may need extra time or assistance.
  • I have Epilepsy: a condition that causes seizures. I may have sudden changes in awareness, movement, or behavior, and may need help to stay safe during an episode - this includes protecting my head, timing my seizures, and calling an ambulance if they become uncontrolled. Do not restrain me or put things in my mouth. After a seizure, I may feel confused or very tired and need support.
  • I have Non Epileptic Seizures: I may have sudden changes in movement, awareness, or responsiveness. Please protect my head, speak calmly, and do not restrain me or put anything in my mouth. They can be unpredictable and last a few minutes or much longer. Please be patient till it passes .After an episode, I may feel tired or disorientated. I do not need an ambulance unless I've injured myself.
  • Hidden Disability: It may not be immediately visible, but it can still affect how I communicate, move, or cope with situations.I may need extra time, support, or understanding, even if I seem okay. Please be patient and understanding with me.
  • I have Chronic Pain: A long-term condition that causes ongoing discomfort or pain. It can affect my energy, concentration, and ability to do everyday tasks, and my symptoms may vary from day to day.I may need to rest, pain relief, mobility aids, or to take things slowly. Please be patient and understanding with me, and let me go at the pace I need.
  • I have MCAS: A condition that can cause allergic-type reactions such as hives, swelling, difficulty breathing, or low blood pressure. Triggers can vary, and reactions may happen suddenly.I may need urgent medical help or be able to self-manage depending on the severity. Please be understanding and help me avoid triggers. Act quickly if I show signs of anaphylaxis
  • I have EDS:  a condition that affects my connective tissues, making my joints unstable and prone to pain, dislocations, and injury. I may also experience fatigue and other symptoms that vary day to day. I may need to move carefully, use mobility aids or take things slowly. Please be gentle and supportive with me.
  • I have Tourettes: a neurological condition that causes involuntary movements and sounds called tics. These can vary in type and severity and may increase with stress or fatigue. I may not be able to control them, I do not mean what I say nor does it always represent what I’m thinking. Please be understanding and respectful.
  • I have Gastoparesis: a condition that affects how my stomach empties, causing symptoms like nausea, pain, bloating, and difficulty eating. My symptoms can vary and may limit what or how much I can eat. I may need extra time or support or be reliant on tube feeding. Please be gentle and accommodating with me.

  • I have ADHD: This affects my focus, attention, and impulse control. I may get distracted easily, fidget, struggle to process information quickly, or need things repeated or clarified.I might need extra time or simplified communication to help me process and understand. Please be patient
  • I have OCD: Also known as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, a mental health condition that causes intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviors or urges. These can be distressing and hard to control, and I may need time to manage them.I might need reassurance or space. Please be patient and understanding with me, and allowme time to work through it.
  • I have Panic Attacks: These are sudden episodes of intense fear or distress, sometimes without cause. They can cause symptoms like a racing heart, chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, or feeling overwhelmed, typically lasting 5 to 20 minutes. I may need time to calm down, distractions, or a quiet space. Please be patient and understanding with me until it passes
  • I have Selective Mutism: An anxiety condition that makes it impossible for me to speak in certain situations, while I still understand what's spoken to me. It's not a choice; I cannot force my voice or control when it happens. I may be able to communicate in other ways, like writing or gestures. I might need extra time and patience to respond, or a safe person to talk to for me. Please be patient and understanding.
  • I have PTSD
